Well, we didn’t make it to the Peace River dock today. Stopping at 2pm in Venice made today much too long. After going through 10 of these:
We stopped at Gasparilla Marina for fuel, bathroom, etc… By that time I was getting stressed about time, hollaring at the kids, etc… This was the last stop before starting the harbor crossing, and I was coming to the realization that we were not going to be able to make it across the bay, much less up the Peace River to the dock, before dark. On our way out of the Marina, we discussed it and decided it would be prudent to turn back. The boat is tied up at the Fuel Dock at Gasparilla Marina for the night, and I will start across the Harbor tomorrow morning. The people at the Marina were extremely gracious and helpful!
